We learn everyday and I am very thankful for dear friends who help us self reflect and work towards becoming someone better! Its our choice for sure! Over the week I am learning to test and see!
In anything we do, anything we want, anything we so desire to have, we must test it and see if it really is good!
Be it cloths, food, car, finding a new home (currenly doing this!), name it and we need to test it and see first! I am currently testing my faith, why, because the tendency is to lose it!
Parables are an interesting tool to help teach, today we use life experiences and true stories. There is this one parable that I can relate to being someone who grew up in a plantation.
But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Matthew 13:23
In other words, this is a clear example of someone who produces great ‘fruit’! Anything we plant, we want a result! In my workplace, I train new staff because we want them to bring the needed results. Result is the fruit we look forward to. I want my life to produce good things! The assurance as explained in Galatians is very encouraging as this fruit is very different from what we look for in society today! The more I see it, the more I am convinced that this is the foundation we need;
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
5:22-23
I read this 10 times and ask myself, is my life emanating ‘love’ or ‘Joy’ or…..and this really gets me depressed! I want to and I cannot but, I am encouraged that I must and therefore I will work at it to make sure its positive! I want it because it does only good and it helps everyone around me!
It does not stop at the result! Making sure that the fruit (result) of the harvest is always as what it is meant to be, we need to bring it under check, just like the policies and procedures in any organisation, we are provided with have a simple warning to throw aside things that hinders and entangled us to sin:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:1-2
I am not perfect, I want to be something, I am trying! I found this road-map and its very interesting! Click here for more on this:
