“When this is over, and it will be over – we want to look back on this moment and remember the many small acts of kindness done to us and by us”.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak
Many of us serve within the life of our parish, church, community and, we will know how important it is, not only to those we serve, but also to the people in our city and our country who are not involved with our specific efforts.
With the curfew in certain countries and lockdown in most other, we are not able to serve on a team the way we usually do each day.
As for me, now is the perfect time to take Jesus’ example and serve anyone we possibly can!
Do we know our neighbours? Do we call people other than family and close friends? Do we have the time or resource to be able to volunteer with ‘virtual’ initiatives or other volunteer initiatives?
Maybe now is the time! Listen to His voice.
Action:
Call one person today for longer than 5 minutes and just chat, pray, encourage each other. While we may not be on a “team”, THIS is the real strength of the church more than ever.
