I Am Enough.

Am I enough?

A question I ask myself, am I ‘good’ enough, ‘successful’ enough, ‘convincing’ enough, ‘sensitive’ enough….and the list goes on!

I was listening to a remarkably successful individual address a businessman’s forum. Today his company is worth a billion US dollars. His humility is what hit me. I was wondering, as I listened to him, why I was not successful, why I did not have what it takes to be like him.

A few days later, we were at a discussion and the topic was ‘money’, how we must not live to love money and despite the teaching being so powerful, the discussion continued to lead to how much we love and how much we want to have money. That discussion left me so down, I realized that despite God’s teachings, we still move in our own direction.

Today, the Lord spoke to me, and I am speechless. He revealed to me something incredibly unique:

God is working in you. He wants your plans and your acts to fulfill his good purpose.

Philippians 2:13 NIRV, https://bible.com/bible/110/php.2.13.NIRV

God already knows what He is doing with me, He already knows that what He wants me to do is to fulfil His good purpose, He reminded me not to question and compare when I see others succeed, He just touched me and said ‘what you do, I am with you, working together with you and we will ensure it fulfils a very good purpose’.

Organizations have many expectations and measure success in multiple ways. This is the pressure I experience. We must perform, we must be ahead of the rest and what and how we get about determines our motives.

However, whatever we are faced with on this earth, can I, with certainty, direct my attention on doing what I must do in a manner that is truly pleasing to God?

Don’t do anything only to get ahead. Don’t do it because you are proud. Instead, be humble. Value others more than yourselves. None of you should look out just for your own good. Each of you should also look out for the good of others. As you deal with one another, you should think and act as Jesus did.

Philippians 2:3‭-‬5 NIRV, https://bible.com/bible/110/php.2.3-5.NIRV

Living each day is such a challenge and yet, we have excellent guidance to be able to pray ‘Thy Will Be Done’ each day! With my Lord guiding me, I am enough! I can serve Him well!

With God, I am Enough!

  1. Thanks for sharing this Dil.

I think all people would always desire to have more money because we know what money can do for us. Its effects are very tangible we’re able to experience great and immediate satisfaction. It’s also innate in us to desire for more. Especially with our business situation now, which is very challenging, with all commodities’ prices getting higher, we feel the need to desire for more success because more success can mean more monetary benefits.

And so we get pressured to excel and desire more success. ☺️

But when we worry and become anxious we have to go to our true north – which is the Bible.

These past days I was lead to these verses by the Lord

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?””
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:19-24‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“God equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NIV

Through these verses I was reminded that God has a purpose for my life and He will equip me in ways that I can do good, whatever is pleasing to Him. He works in me to will and to act to be able to accomplish His will in my life. He will never leave me, thus, I don’t need to worry and stress about wanting more money.😊 It is enough to hold on to what He said with full confidence – I have God as my Helper and He assures me that He will never leave me nor forsake me no matter what. 👏🏻 Then I am okay 😊😍
