Home Swweeet Home!

I am counting with my fingers, it began in 1996, then 2004, again in 2007, then 2010, again in 2012, 2016 and now once again!! This is our 7th house move, 5th country move as a family!

Waiting for our container to arrive was possibly painful but it also helped us to wait patiently and manage to live off a suitcase for 2 months! After a while, one begins to become so content with what we have that the moment we begin to see the boxes and boxes and boxes get unloaded from the container, I am just wondering if these really are what we shipped!!

The big day finally arrived, we are now a family of mature adults and this 7th move is certainly unlike the last big move which was when we returned home from overseas in 2012. Before leaving our temporary accommodation, we sat as a family to plan out the day, discuss how we will deal with the goods, what goes where, who is responsible for what and so on, the usual family ritual of managing expectations, and went into a time of devotion to commit all our days plans, it was surely going to be an exciting day ahead!

Our belief all along our relocation and transition was to commit all our ways and plans to our Master because we know that He chose us first, every detail was planned even before we knew it and we were absolutely convinced that where we were to live was clearly His choice!

Confirmation and assurance is something that I cannot explain as coincidental because it surely is not! Our consultant Lui, our Landlords Herbert and Bambi came into our lives in an amazing way, definitely not by accident! As we began our devotions, we were given a very clear message!

“See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. Pay attention to him and listen to what he says. Do not rebel against him; he will not forgive your rebellion, since my Name is in him.” Exodus 23:20,21

It was a ‘lock jaw’moment, what more can we say! We are overjoyed, we meditate on the word, go through our plans once again, we make sure we are aligned, we remind ourselves over and over that stress levels have to be maintained, that we will not in any way lose our cool and we will not provoke one another with questions that are meaningless! It surely was an awesome moment of truth! We left the apartment with joy and encouragement knowing how much we were loved, how much preparation was already in place, and that the day was surely right!

3 days later and we are settled in so well. All our earthly possessions are placed according to plan and the house has become our new 7th home!

Our family prayer is that this home will be open to all, that it will be a blessing to others, that those who come will leave refreshed. All praise to Him!
