A Sense Of Who He Is

A “Teacher,” a king of Israel in Jerusalem (traditionally identified as King Solomon), spent a lot of time exploring the meaning of life. He tried it all in his quest for meaning – power and prestige, wealth, and women. And, yet, still, he observed that generations come, and generations go, but it all seems to be an endless cycle…

This cycle continues for all of us today:

  • I must and I will work hard, and I know that eventually, I will die.
  • I love my hobbies, my ‘toys’, and I love to acquire things. Yet, I know that eventually I will die.
  • We have families, we love our families, we know that eventually we will die.
  • Whether we spend our lives doing good or evil, we all eventually die.

The “Teacher” goes on to say:

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬

As we close the year and reflect, I process my own life, I get ‘goosebumps’ of the recent memories, I also have glimpses of the bigger picture— and I can still only see so much.

My dad’s Alzheimer’s disease which began with mild memory loss, has now led to total loss of the ability to recognize, speak, react, and respond to the environment. He was well taken care of by his loving wife, who had a massive blood clot in her brain. The doctors gave up on her and refused to keep her in hospital. We took her and kept her beside her husband. She gained consciousness! Today, she is at 30% of who she was, she can speak a few words, she can express herself, she is very much alive!

My brother Roshan lost his life tragically in a freak car accident, his wife spent 4 long months recovering in hospital, she has just begun attempting to walk, she is determined, she is positive, she is progressing absolutely well!

Our eldest ‘tied the knot‘ in October, bringing immense joy to the family! Having a daughter in the family is a wonderful experience. Life is no more what it used to be. It’s now filled with new joys!

Queentine and Anaath were married on October 16, 2023

A dear friend asked me last night how I see my life’s experiences from a spiritual perspective. My response was that I know that God has made everything beautiful for its own time. I explained that God has planted eternity in my heart. We both agreed that people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end, yet, we know that it is all for a good and perfect plan.

I wish and would want it to be my job to know everything! However, reality strikes me, and I know without a doubt that my job is to trust God, because He knows best.

At the very end of the book the Teacher shares his final thoughts:

“Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.”

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12‬:‭13‬

As we all look back on this year, what was beautiful? Even if it was challenging or excruciating, what did God teach you through it?

Regardless of the past or what the future holds, I learned so much and I want to encourage my loving friends and family that you can be certain that God is working—from beginning to end. He will surely be with us.
